Chocolate. While it doesn't seem to work for me in the same way it works for most girls, these were really alright. In fact, I almost feel like a new person.

The girls scenery was nice to look at today. What

I should be grateful for the quiet, but I always feel like it's the deep breath before the plunge. As Tolkien once said.

Sometimes people go to the library because they actually want to check out books. And no, that is not an euphemism.

That will teach me not to try and catch up on old journal entries when I have Arithmancy readings to do.

Only cowards attack a girl. Which, as some seem to be forgetting, Meliora is for all but one day of the month.

Thank you for the biscuits, Sylvia.

Hello, Maclovius. Do comment and attempt to insult me, I could do with the comic relief.

Albus, how long still? On second thoughts, I'd rather not know.

History of Magic at 9 o'clock in the morning? Are they mad? I dropped it from my own schedule, but for the suckers people still taking it, Mrs. Macmillan will probably make for a more animate instructor than Professor Binns. She has a pulse, for a start.

Other than Monday and Tuesday, I don't start any earlier than ten. It's not too bad. More time to exercise beforehand. If the Squid's calmed down this year, Maman bought me a wetsuit as an early birthday present. Which means I'll be able to go swimming longer, perhaps even until Halloween.

The plan to drop Choir didn't work. If she'd said no I would have rebelled and quit anyway, but she gave me that, "Well, I'd be disappointed but if it's not your thing, then I'll understand" speech. Parents seem to instinctively know that when they give you a choice, you end up doing what they want you to do anyway.

Why aren't I hexing this private? I guess I don't care.

Five down, two to go.

Private to fifth-seventh year girls and Perpetua O'Carolan:

Maclovius has a habit of kissing and telling. Shocking coming from him, I know. I won't mention the witch's name, but he also tells how far he goes.

    Just for your information.

Sometimes I forget just how convenient magic is. The other day when I was at the pool, a bunch of children were running around and one of them fell and cut her head. At this point I feel pretty confident healing a simple cut, but as I live in a Muggle area I had to go get someone who could drive her to the nearest clinic, where she would get stitches.

My OWL results were decent. Since I have hardly any other commitments, I might have a crack at six classes next year. I can always drop one if I find out I've underestimated the NEWT workload.

I've spoken about myself enough for one day. Glad to hear that you're doing better, Saoirse.
